Data on the Jas taken from the book ‘Övörkhangai Aimgiin Tögrög Sumiin Tüükhen Zamnal’ written by S. Ichinnorov and S. Dashdeleg, Ulaanbaatar, 2004
The place called Demchigiin süm is mentioned in the book (p.11.) in the sub-chapter on historical monuments. It says that there are remnants of it about 79 kilometres from the süm centre of Tögrög. It says that monks used to go there to meditate (nyamba) and that the remnants include some meditational caves.
Unfortunately no-one knew about a temple called Lkhagva Demchigiin Süm in the sub-province (Tögrög) sum) thought they knew about the two Jas temples, Uushigiin Jas and Bayangiin Jas. Unfortunately the above book does not say the exact location of the ruins of the temple, not even its direction from the sum centre.
In the end a local person aged about 70 was found, who had knew about and had visited a place called Demchigiin Süm and took us there. It turned out that it was not a temple site but only a spectacular natural formation, two huge and two smaller mud heaps in a special form, including holes a bit resembling caves that may have been used for meditation but it is not sure. It is also possible that a temple was situated here. All in all it is not sure that a temple was situated here, but it is possible. It is not sure that these caves were used for meditation, but it is possible. However, it may also have been the case that this spectacular place was named by people Demchigiin Süm but there was no temple here.
