Description of location :
Bor burgasiin valley is located on the back side of the Bayan mountains, which are part of Mongol Altai mountain range. The river in the valley is also called Bor Burgast. Uriankhai people who originally lived in the area have all moved away quite a while ago. The local Kazakhs that moved into the area do not know 0f any sacred sites in the area.

Our guide showed us 2 sites, 1 km. apart from each other. The 1st site used to have an ovoo that was destroyed. Rock outlines are made around the site. The local Kazakhs say that since they started their cemetery in the valley, the rocks from the fence were almost all removed and used for grave yards. However the rock fence remains on the 2nd site, which is 45 m. x 25 m. Our guide, a local elder who used to be a school director, said people used to say this is the temple site, but when the Kazakhs came, the local Uriankhais took away their ger temple. The fence outlines have 2 gaps for the gates on the south and 1 on the west side. Within the fence outlines is the
6 m. x 13m. outline of a building and 2 ger base outlines. So the site was not touched by the local Kazakhs. Sometimes, Mongolian herders spend the winter here, so there are winter shelters for cattle in the area. Probably this a small wooden temple.
