Notes :
According to Tserendorj, who belonged to Uyangiin khüree before the purges, a small temple with everyday ceremonies was situated in Ushikhai. 20 monks belonged to the temple and butter lamps were lit without ceasing (mönkh zul). It was a kind of Lusiin süm for the worship of white and black nagas. The man-shaped stone was worshipped here. He says that Ereet and Ushikhai were two different temples. Ereet had 20-30 lamas and one temple. Ushikhai had 20 lamas with a small shrine. It seems that there is some confusion with the names: Züün Ereet, Baruun Ereet, etc.
According to the book ‘Övörkhangai Aimagiin Toli’ after the foundation of Uyangiin khüree, in 1666, in 1681 khürees were founded in Baruun Ereet and Züün Ereet (p.226.). It is not clear that it was moving or they were separated khürees. There is no trace referring to huge khürees in this place. It seems that firstly the city was founded in another place and moved to the area surrounded by these two Mountains in 1681.
According to Ch. Jamiyaansengge monk, this Teeliin Uushai was worshipped here.
The surveyors found another Uushkhai stone, which is called Dood Uushkhai (Lower Uushkhai), while the other one, which is in Uyanga is called Deed Uushkhai (Upper). Its classical Mongolian form is Aγusiqai. Today there is a small shrine housing the Lower Uushkhai stone. (Its GPS is 46°02.755, 102°10.837, 2136 m elevation). It is possible that there was a shrine here as well before the purge, as this stone was worshipped too.
Maidar lists a temple called Akhain Khiid (No. 679) on his map in Uyanga Sum. It may be the same temple, but it is not sure, as he gives a different place name Khar Us. He gives the following data on it: there were 40 monks, the head was called Dondog, it was founded in 1710. He also states that this monastery had 16 temples. It is for sure that this data on the temple numbers cannot refer to the temple Uushikhai. Maybe there is some confusion in the data Maidar gives and might refer to the old Uyangiin Khüree itself.
