Description of location :
The site is located on the north bank of Khubsgul lake, 2 km. southeast of Khankh sum center. The Bayasgalan mountain lies on the north side of Khuvsgul lake and the site is on the west bank of the Khankh river 2 km south east of the Khankh soum centre. Khuvsgul lake is on the west and north-west side of the site. There was the lake`s 13 Ovoo in front of the site. Now it is covered by water. GPS given for Turt, Khankh sum centre.

The Khankhyn khuree had 5 datsans (colleges) and over 150 monks. The tutelary deity of the monastery was Damdinchoijoo (rta mgrin chos rgyal). 1.The temple is named after the river, which flows to its east side.
2.Local old people inform that Academician B.Rinchen came and did research work here at the end of the 1960s.
3.The monastery has five datsans and about 150 lamas and its charm was Damdinchoijoo. The lamas engaged in debate with lamas from neighbor Zuulungyn khuree in Rinchenlkhumbe soum.
4.The monastery was the most north-easterly lamaism monastery in the branch of Uriankhai khyazgaar.
6.Our research team could not reach to the site because of the road obstacles. Therefore we didn`t record the GPS geographical coordinates nor took measurements from the historical site.
8. “Khankh and Mond” tourist camp was established in 2001 near the site place and it has been running its business for 6 years.
We interviewed Shagdarsuren, who is father of the 2nd bag governer , Surenkhuu, living in Namagt, east coast of Khuvsgul lake and Sant west foot of mountain-pass, which is 30 km from the center of Khankh soum.
