Хэнтий аймгийн Мөрөн сумын Гүний шүтээн Хуучнаар Сэцэнхан аймгийн Лха Жононгийн хошуу, одоогийн Хэнтий аймгийн Мөрөн сумын нутагт, тал хээрийн бүсэд, сумын төвөөс зүүн зүгт 40 км-т, баруун хойноо Баян Элбэг уул, баруун урдуураа Эрдэнэ Наваан уул, зүүн талаараа Адгийн худаг, урдуураа Ухаа хошуу хэмээх газруудаар хүрээлэгдэн Гүний шүтээн оршиж байжээ. 1934-38 оны Хүрээ хийдийн судалгаанд Гүнгийн хийд нь Хэнтий аймгийн Хэнтий сумд бүртгэгдсэн бөгөөд уг хийд 7 ламтай, дөрвөн дуган, гурван дацантай 1938 онд эзэмших эзэнгүй болсон тул хаагдсан хэмээн тэмдэглэгджээ. Аман эх сурвалж: Гүний хийдэд Суварган хийдээс ирж “ Улаан юм ” хурдаг байжээ.
Description of location :
The site occupies stepple rangeland. To the north of the site is a mountain, Bayan-Elbag, and a well-named Urt, to the southwest is a mountain called Erdenenavaan, to the east is the river Sarig, to the east is a well Adgiin Khudag surrounded by a bog, to the south is a mountain named Ukhaa Khoshuu and to the east of the site is a mountain called Khailantiin. Locals worship Tumen-Ulzii mountain.

There is a newly- built stupa built on the former stupa base, worshiped during autumn. Also there are 1 base of a ger and a square-shaped base. The monastery used to run a ceremony called “Ulaan Yum”.
