Тууриас баруун тийш 500-600 орчим м зайд Ширэгтэй хунх хэмээх газарт Нөмрөг сумын хуучин төв суурьшиж байсан бөгөөд ерөнхийдөө энэ хавийн газрыг эдүгээ хүмүүс хуучин төвийн ам хэмээн ерөнхийлөн нэрлэдэг. Хатавчийн хүрээнд Баянтэсийн харуулын жижиг сүмүүд , Баянзүрхийн хурал, Түдэвтийн Хавцгайтын хүрээ зэргээс лам нар ихээр ирж сууж ном хурдаг байжээ. Хатавчийн хүрээний лам нар зуны дунд сарын эхээр Нөмрөгийн нурууны овоог тахиж дараа нь ганжуурын 108 судрыг баглаж үүрцгээн ойр хавийн уул ус нурууг явганаар тойрч гороолон ганжуур эргэх зан үйл хийдэг байв. Мөн зуны адаг сард майдар эргэдэг байсан ба харин цам гардаг байсан тухай мэдээлэл олдоогүй болно. Уг хийдийн гол шүтээн нь Гомбо сахиус байсан ба Чойрын номыг нэлээд голлож үздэг байжээ. Энэ хийдэд Халхын сүм хийдүүдэд гайхагдсан Чойрын онолын 3 том лам сууж байсан гэсэн мэдээ байна. 1937 оны намар дээд мяндаг тушаалын лам нар баривчлагдан явснаар өвөл нь хүрээ хийд бүрэн хаагджээ. Хаагдахын өмнө хийдийн хамба нь Дамба хамба хэмээх хүн байсан байна. Хүрээ хийд хаагдсаны дараа хавар сумын захиргаанаас 3 хүн ирж лацадсан сүм хийдийг онгойлгон бурхан тахилыг нь 3 өдөр зөөж устгажээ. Одоо тус хийдийн туурийн ерөнхий хэмжээ хааш хаашаа нэг км.кв талбайд 20-22 орчим сүм дуган бусад байгууламжийн туурь байдаг. 1990-ээд оны эхээр үзмэрч гэгдэж байсан Ч. Description of location :
The old site of Khatavchiin khuree is located on the way from Zavkhan province’s Tudevtei, Bayankhairkhan and Tes sums to Numrug, Tosontsengel sum and UB, passing Baruun mountain pass. It is 2Km the east of the road. KHumrugiin mountain range is along the west and north-west of the site with the NUmrugiin mountain range lying to the east and the north-east of the site. Both of these mountain ranges are covered with thick forests and have sacred ovoos on the tops. The site itself is on the side slope of Arslantai khunkh mountain, which is in between the two big ranges. The Numrug sum centre was 500-600M from the site in the early 1950’s.

Locals can locate the site precisely. The marks are fading away, but by looking carefully some foundation can be identified. But it is not possible to define the full extent of the site. We estimated it is 1Km x 1Km. 84 year old Tserendorj said the monastery had 22-23 temples. So we tried to find this number of foundations, but did not succeed. We were only able to verify about 10. However, the foundations of the main temple are clear. It is located at the head of the other foundations. In 1990 the first president’s adviser, Dashtseren, who was said to have extrasensory perceptions, dug the site using a tractor in order to find religious objects. The ground still has the marks of this excavation. The residence area for the monks was located on the north-west side of the site. Apparently there used to be many gers around and within the site. There was a district for poor families who lived off the monastery, on the south-east side of the site. Faded ger base outlines are visible in this place.

1.Locals mainly call the site Khuuchin Tuviin valley. Just a few older people said it was called Khatavchiin khuree.
11. Local elders say that soon after the monastery was closed the temple buildings were taken apart.
