Status of site at time of survey :
Perhaps it was not a monastery or temple, but the researchers found there, between the newer ruins of the once sum centre of Bayanbaraat (existing till 1973) and the remained buildings and yurts that are used now by several families residing there, stone foundation (square shaped) and a foundation of a yurt, that were resembling the other monastery remnants that were found on real monastic sites. People living near the site showed the yurt foundation, and said it was a temple building when there was an active sum centre, in the 1960s, which is absolutely impossible. If it was a temple site, it must have been in the old times, before 1937. The only old man, Ad-Zana monk in Bayanönjüül sum, who showed the 7 monastic sites in the sum, and provided data on them said he had never heard that a temple was situated there.

Notes :
According to local people this settlement was the centre of Bayanbaraat sum, before it was unified with Önjüül sum in 1973 and became Bayan-Önjüül sum in (remark: Maidar`s map remarks the two sums separately as it was made before the union. However, Maidar does not mark monasteries in the areas.) According to local people who live in the settlement there was probably an assembly which was operating here in the 1960`s, 1970s in a yurt foundation of which is still visible. However, as religious practice was forbidden that time it is very strange. One of the data providers (D. Ad-Zana, born 1935) who was living in Bayanbaraat sum and has deep knowledge on the monastic life of Bayanbaraat sum could not confirm it. All in all it is sure that if there really was an assembly it was not operating before the purges.
