However, in Ar Shavartiin am there are some springs, two wells and a nice flat area where an assembly could have existed.

Notes :
As ‘shand’ is a name of a kind of water source and the area had many sources, it can be the place, which was sought. About 100 metres from the two wells (one is next to the source, the other is about 20 meters away), there are some stone foundations but having taken into account the common signs of a monastic site, these were not accepted by the surveyors as evidence of a monastery. (The GPS of this place is N 47°16.007’, E 106°26.526, 1573m altitude) (see photos 401-404). Local people said there was another place called Olon Bulag about 10 km north of Ar Shavantiin am. As nobody knew if there was a monastery or not, the valley of Ar Shavantiin am was accepted by the surveyors as once being the site of Olon Shandiin Khural. As families now lived there, there was nothing left except rubbish. Data from the book by L Khench-Yaakhav: Altan Nutag, p.16. A monk Gelen called Luvsantseren belonged to this monastery, who had studied in China and Tibet for years. Some of his students like B. Nyambuu and D. Sürenjav became well known intellectuals later.
