Visitors used to come from four directions, so there are horse tracks coming to the site from four directions. On the west side of the site there are two pine trees. Locals regard them as sacred and worship them. Dirt from here is considered to be of good quality for making clay for tsa tsaas and other religious objects. Status of site at time of survey :
The site is not visible. Some time ago families built their storage buildings on the site, which makes it hard to define the temple outlines. Pieces of broken metal pots, fire places and clay vases can be found scattered around. Foundation of the main Maitreya Temple can still be made out. Currently there is a new wooden temple 6M x 6M and 3-4M high on the site of the Maitreya temple. The foundation of the old main temple is 16M x16M. The temple does not have regular chanting. Since it was built in 2005, two Maitreya ceremonies have been conducted here. No Buddha statues inside the temple. During the winter people living nearby come to light candles and burn incense inside. Locals are planning to recruit monks and have permanent chanting here in the future.

Notes :
1.On Rinchen’s map it is noted that Narangiin khural is in the Airag lake area. This site is 10Km to the west of Airag lake in the place called Naran forest.
12. The site was not restored. A new temple has been built on the old site. Two ceremonies have been organized here in the recent past.
13. The locals say that the old monastery had only 2-3 monks who were resident permanent. As well as the Maitreya temple there were storage houses, so those 2-3 monks were looking after them as well as the temple. During the Maitreya ceremonies in autumn monks from Galuutain monastery would come for the chanting.
11. Until 1970 an elder monk, Choinzon, was looking after the temple site and the house with books. After he passed away the house collapsed and as locals say the valley was filled with flying sutras. Some call the site Baraany (Goods), because there were storage houses at the site. We could not gather any information about the precise number of monks.
