Завхан аймаг Их-Уул сум. Зартын хүрээ / Гэмпилэн / Хуучин Сайн ноён хан аймгийн Далай Чойнхор вангийн хошууны нутаг одоогийн Их-уул сумын Зарт багийн төв Зартын голын зүүн эрэгт энэ хүрээ төвхнөж байжээ. Анх 1870-аад оны эхээр байгуулагдсан гэж үздэг тус хүрээг Далай Чойнхор вангийн хошууны гол хүрээ болох Тариатын хүрээний дагуул хүрээ хэмээн нэрийдэж байжээ. Тус хүрээний гол шүтээн нь Дамдин Чойжоо бурхан байсан ба нийтдээ 170 гаруй ламын данстай байв. Харин байнгын тогтмол сууж хурдаг ламын тоо 80 гаруй байжээ. Зуны эхэн сард Цагаан уулын овоог тахиж ирсэн ба жилийн томоохон дүйчэн хурлуудад өвгөн Гэсэр ламтан өөрийн биеэр морилж хурал уншлагад оролцдог байв. Зартын хүрээ нь цогчин, хайлан, мамба, сахиусын , дарь эхийн, жүдийн , дүйнхорын гэсэн 7-8 сүм дугантай хүрээ байжээ. Хүрээний гол хэсэгт Ра-ны сүм гэж байв. Уг сүмд ганжуурын 108 ботийг хадгалдаг байжээ. Энэ сүм нь ойролцоогоор 10:10 м хэмжээтэй байсан бөгөөд уг сүмийн баруун талд найдан сүм байсан байна. Найдан сүмийн дэргэд Номтын сүм гэж 7:7 хэмжээний жижиг модон сүм байв. Тус хүрээнд зуны эхэн сарын лусын буулттай өдөр Цагаан овоог тахиж дараа нь майдар эргэх ёслол явагддаг байсан байна. Харин зуны дунд сарын эхээр бүрэн хэмжээний цам гардаг байсан ба цамын дэглэлт хувцас, чимэглэл, хэрэглэлийн хувьд маш уран чамин хийцтэй байжээ. Жишээ нь , махгал бурхны баг гэхэд бугын толгойг хатааж шуумалдан дан шүрээр бүрмэл таван кг орчим жинтэй баг байсан байна. Зартын хүрээнд 1937 оноос өмнө гавж Бааван, Гомбожав, Ойдов, Далантай, цорж Гүржав, Самбуу болон Жамсранжав , Дашдааваа, Нинжёндон, Цогбазар, Магсар, Пүрэвжал, Чимэд, Дамба, Лодой, Дагва, Загдаа, зурхайч Нампил, Дүгэр, Гарамжав, Бадрах нарын эрдэм чадалтай олон лам хуваргууд сууж байжээ. Туурийн чанх өмнө 1995 онд нутгийн иргэд шинээр 5:6 м хэмжээ бүхий хоёр жижиг модон дуган барьж энэ хоёр дуганы дунд Зартын хүрээний гол шүтээн байсан Дамдинчойжоо бурхныг 2,7 м өндөр ягаавтар өнгийн боржин чулуугаар урлан бүтээж залжээ. Дуганд нутгийн иргэд сүсэгтнүүд дүйчэн өдрүүдээр ном залж зул өргөж сан тавьдаг ба одоогоор бурхан тахил эд зүйлс тахилч лам байхгүй. Description of location :
The old site of Zartyn is located at the centre of the Zart team of Ikh Uul sum. The region is hilly and with forests. Zartyn is divided in three parts upper, middle and lower. The site is located in the middle Zart. The Zartyn river runs along the west side of the site. A Sacred ovoo called Urtumtiin is located 10Km to the north of the site. Many houses, shelters and storage buildings belonging to the people living in the Zart team centre have been built on the site - with no any town planning.

The site is generally recognizable. We interviewed a few locals to find out some details.
1. At the centre of the site was Ra’s temple. The foundation of this temple is visible. 108 volumes of the Kanjuur were stored here being placed on the shrine and worshiped. Thus it was called Kanjuur’s Ra Temple. Monks used to recite inside the temple. During the recitation of the Kanjuur a curtain was drawn to cover the volumes and was removed after it was finished. There are foundations of other temples on the sides of Ra’s temple. Ra temple is 12M x12M and a smaller foundation measuring 5M x 5M lies alongside almost as an extension of Ra’s temple. The Naidan temple measuring 11M x 11M lies on the right side of the Ra’s temple with the Nomtyn temple (6.5M x 6.5M) on the side of Naidan sum. It is impossible to define the other temple outlines as they are all mixed with the local residences some even lying under the toilets. In 1995 directly to the south of the site, the locals built two wooden temples in between which is placed a statue of the main deity of the monastery, Dorjnamjim (5M high, 2.7M x 0.4M)carved on pinkish marble. During auspicious days locals light candles in the temples. Inside the temples there a some deities and tankas placed on the altar/shrine. There are no monks, thus no chantings.

Notes :
1.In prof.Rinchen’s map this site is called Tsartyn khural, but the locals call it Zartyn khuree. According the visible foundations this was a big monastery.
7.It is impossible to define the full size of the site. Locals have built their houses and put their gers on the site. But it is clear that it was a big monastery. Over time it seems there were temples, monks dormitories, locals houses, and a Chinese district on and around the site. As such it is hard to say which outlines are part of the monastery complex which are not.
